The cost of developing a product is heavily dependent on the complexity of the product. We’ve developed electronic toys for less than USD 20k and industrial machinery for more than USD 300k. Statistically, most of the products we’ve designed cost between USD 50k to USD 150k. Note this is the entire FIXED cost, including creating the circuit board, product enclosure, retail package, tooling, acquiring electrical certification, production line setup, etc.
Depending on the production volume, the profit margin is between 10% – 30% for most contract manufacturers worldwide, and we are no different. If you know the total material cost, you should be able to work out a rough estimate yourself.

For most products, it takes 3 – 6 months to design and prototype, 2 – 3 months for product industrialisation, and 1 – 3 months to manufacture the first batch.

At the beginning of your project, we’ll have one or multiple workshops together to understand the product you want to design. Our engineers will use the gathered information to write the product design specification document, which is crucial for project success.
Towards the end of the project, we’ll ask you to review our design with your stakeholders and conduct field testing if necessary. We’ll modify the product according to the change requests before the product goes into manufacturing.
